She was born on 17th Oct 1991 in Bhubaneswar. Most of the people in her family were fond of music. Her grandmother and father used to sing very well.
She started learning to sing from class two and her grandmother was very happy to know this. At that time she was only seven years old. She did his primary schooling at Sri Sathya Sai High School (Bhubaneswar). Then she completed her graduation from Rama Devi Women's College Bhubaneswar. She did PG in Economics at Utkal University.
Deeptirekha always wanted to do playback singing in Bollywood. She took Lata Mangeshkar and her father as her idol. She joined the Rajdhani Kala Parishad and began her initial training. Her mother had taken her to join there. She took her initial training in singing from Guru Sri Chaitanya Mohapatra. Then after that Deepti learned "Odissi Bisarada" from Guru Pratap Kumar Das. Then finally she learned classical music from Guru Bijayananda Nayak.

Before coming into a singing career, she worked as an actress in teleserial like Raja Kanya. There she was the lead actress. Then she thinks she doesn't like what she's doing because she is a singer from the inside. After that, she focused only on her singing career.
